Today on Mt. Ishizuchi, rain will continue throughout the day. Summit temperatures hover around 9 degrees Celsius, with a felt temperature of approximately 8 degrees Celsius, which is cool for this time of year. There is also a temperature difference of about 4 degrees Celsius between the summit and the base, meaning the felt temperature will decrease further with altitude.

Particular caution is advised for the chain sections. Chains such as Ichino-kusari, Nino-kusari, and Sanno-kusari are wet from the rain, making the rocks extremely slippery. There is a high risk of falls if chains are used carelessly, so we strongly recommend using the bypass routes.

The ground is generally wet, with muddy sections in places. Waterproof and breathable rainwear, both jacket and pants, are essential. To prevent hypothermia, wear a moisture-wicking base layer and an insulating mid-layer like fleece, with rainwear as your outer shell. While wind speeds are moderate, getting wet in the rain increases the risk of hypothermia, so take frequent breaks, consume energy food, and change out of wet clothing promptly.

Visibility is currently 1.5 kilometers, but it may temporarily worsen due to rain. Carry a headlamp and allow ample time for your ascent or descent. The risk of lightning and strong winds is low, but temperatures will remain largely unchanged into the evening, with light drizzle forecast overnight, so continue to prioritize cold weather protection.
