Iwate-san summit currently enjoys clear skies with a temperature of 4.5°C, feeling like 1.8°C. The base is a mild 13.4°C. Temperatures will rise during the day, reaching 9.4°C at the summit by noon, with gusts up to 9.2 m/s. Expect a comfortable effective temperature of 5 to 10°C during your ascent. A wicking base layer, fleece mid-layer, and windproof shell are recommended for layering, allowing for adjustments as conditions change.

Trail conditions are currently dry. However, clouds are expected to increase in the afternoon, leading to overcast skies by evening, and light rain is forecast for early tomorrow morning. Particular caution is advised on the Okachi-meguri trail around the Yakushidake Crater. The loose rocks along the crater rim will become slippery when wet, significantly increasing the risk of slips and falls. Maintain vigilance with your foot placement.

Daytime winds, with gusts up to 9.2 m/s, should not significantly impede movement, even above the treeline. However, gusts are predicted to exceed 9 m/s by evening, reaching over 10 m/s in the early hours of tomorrow. As temperatures drop to around 4°C overnight, getting wet from the rain will dramatically lower your effective temperature, escalating the risk of hypothermia.
