Sapporo Teine will experience pleasant early summer sunshine today. Summit temperatures are expected to rise from the low 11s in the morning to around 15 degrees Celsius by noon. However, a strong westerly wind is forecast, with gusts potentially exceeding 18 meters per second, especially in the morning. The effective temperature at the summit will feel closer to 7 degrees Celsius, making it feel colder than the actual air temperature.

With no snow accumulation and no precipitation, the ground is generally dry. Nevertheless, on the exposed ridges of the Highland Zone, the strong winds could cause instability and affect balance. Exercise caution, particularly on steep slopes, to mitigate the risk of falls. A windproof outer shell is an essential piece of equipment for today's conditions.

Visibility remains excellent, exceeding 20 kilometers, offering superb panoramic views of Sapporo city and Ishikari Bay. The wind will gradually subside in the afternoon, but temperatures will drop significantly after sunset. Carry a quick-drying base layer, an insulating mid-layer, and a windproof outer layer. Adjust clothing as needed to maintain core body temperature.

While the risk of hypothermia is low, be mindful of the reduced effective temperature due to strong winds and potential chilling from sweat. There is no forecast for thunderstorms today.
