Today on Miyanoura-dake, persistent drizzle and dense fog will dominate throughout the day. Visibility at the summit will remain below 1km, and trails will be continuously wet. Temperatures are forecast to range from 11 to 13 degrees Celsius, but with 99% humidity, drizzle, and gusts exceeding 15m/s, the effective temperature will feel significantly colder. During gusts around 3 PM, the perceived temperature could drop close to 0 degrees Celsius, posing a high risk of hypothermia if one continues to move while wet.

Trail conditions will be wet across the entire area due to continuous drizzle, with many muddy sections. Particular caution is advised on boardwalks and rocks around Hananoego Marsh, which will be slippery. Waterproof and breathable rainwear is essential, and a fleece or light insulated jacket should be carried as a mid-layer to prepare for the cold.

Miyanoura-dake is an extremely rainy region, and even with this light drizzle, vigilance against sudden increases in river levels is necessary. On the long approach from Yodogawa Trailhead, exercise extreme caution at river crossings and avoid attempting to cross if conditions appear dangerous. The risk of getting lost due to dense fog is also very high; constantly check your GPS, map, and compass, and be prepared to turn back if whiteout conditions make progress unsafe. Cloudy conditions will persist into the night, with a possibility of light drizzle returning in the early hours of May 29, and the cold weather will continue.
