This morning, Mount Kita (North Dake) summit is partly cloudy with visibility less than 1 kilometer. The perceived temperature is a chilly 0.7 degrees Celsius. Expect improving conditions towards midday with mostly clear skies, and temperatures rising to around 5.9 degrees Celsius. Winds will remain light throughout the day, making for generally favorable conditions for ascent.

The ground is mostly exposed rock, but due to cool morning temperatures and humidity, some sections, particularly around Happonba-no-Koru and shaded areas, may be damp. Limited visibility exacerbates the risk of slipping on wet rock. Proceed with extreme caution in such areas, carefully choosing your foot placement.

Layering should include a moisture-wicking base layer, a light fleece or down jacket as a mid-layer, and a windproof and waterproof outer shell. Gloves and a hat are essential. Crampons or microspikes are not necessary, but waterproof hiking boots are a must. If visibility remains poor, consider postponing your ascent or waiting for conditions to improve.

Towards evening, partly cloudy skies will return, and temperatures are forecast to drop below freezing overnight. If your activity extends into the evening, be thoroughly prepared for the risk of hypothermia by ensuring adequate cold weather gear.
