The summit currently enjoys mostly clear skies with a temperature of 11.5°C and a gentle wind speed of 1.2m/s. Visibility extends beyond 20km, offering excellent panoramic views of Mt. Daisen, also known as Hoki Fuji, this morning. The Summer Trail to Misen, the highest point accessible via general routes, is presently in dry condition, making for an easy ascent.

However, increasing cloudiness is expected around noon, with light mist beginning by 15:00. The temperature will drop to 10.9°C. The Summer Trail will become wet and potentially slippery, requiring careful footing, particularly on the steep ascents and wooden boardwalks directly below Misen. Hikers must be mindful of the changing ground conditions.

The perceived temperature, currently around 10°C, is likely to fall into single digits in the afternoon due to the mist and increasing wind. Essential layering includes a fast-drying base, a fleece mid-layer, and a waterproof-breathable shell. Given the heightened risk of hypothermia from wetness and cold, don your rain gear proactively before precipitation begins and ensure consistent energy intake with adequate provisions.

From 18:00 onwards, the mist will transition to rain, and wind gusts are forecast to exceed 17m/s overnight. These strong winds, characteristic of weather patterns from the Sea of Japan, will render post-sunset activity extremely hazardous. An early termination of your mountain activity is therefore strongly recommended.
