Currently, Kuju Mountains summit experiences clear skies with a temperature of 6.9℃, feeling like 4.8℃. Winds are calm at 1.63m/s, and visibility is excellent at over 16km. Although partly cloudy conditions are expected during the day, temperatures will rise to 11.4℃, and winds will remain gentle with gusts up to approximately 6m/s throughout the day.

Considering the current felt temperature of 4.8℃ and the expected rise, a quick-drying synthetic base layer, a thin fleece or lightweight down for the mid-layer, and a windproof jacket for the outer layer are appropriate. Adjust your layers frequently during activity to regulate body temperature, and wear insulating layers during breaks to prevent hypothermia. There is no precipitation or snowfall forecast, and temperatures are above freezing, so trails will remain dry. Muddy conditions are unlikely on popular routes like the Makinoto Pass course. Crampons or microspikes are not required.

Kuju Mountains are a volcanic range, and getting lost in whiteout conditions is a significant risk in its vast terrain. Be aware that you can easily lose your sense of direction if visibility deteriorates, especially on isolated peaks like Mt. Mimata and Mt. Daisen. Although visibility is good today, pay attention to the partly cloudy forecast for the afternoon and always confirm your current location using a map, compass, and GPS. For areas around Bogatsuru Wetland, waterproof hiking boots are essential in case of unexpected rain.

The risk of thunderstorms is extremely low, and strong winds or hypothermia are not major concerns today. However, be mindful of getting cold during breaks. Although partly cloudy conditions are expected towards evening, no precipitation is forecast, and clear skies are anticipated to return overnight.
