Zao Renpo will experience mild conditions throughout the day, with perceived temperatures ranging from 6 to 10 degrees Celsius. Winds will be light, making for a pleasant day for hiking. A quick-drying base layer, a fleece mid-layer, and a wind-resistant light outer shell are essential. Carry an additional light down jacket or fleece for breaks and as temperatures drop in the evening.

Current summit conditions are mostly clear with a temperature of 8.9 degrees Celsius and a gentle wind speed of 0.61 m/s. The temperature difference from the base is 6.4 degrees Celsius, highlighting the need to account for altitude-related cooling. The ground is dry with no snow cover. Some dampness might be found in shaded areas or near streams, but significant mud is unlikely. Crampons or chain spikes are not required. While risks of strong winds or lightning are low, temperatures will drop significantly after sunset, falling to around 4 degrees Celsius overnight.
