There is a 5.5-degree temperature difference from the base, indicating significant cooling with altitude. The morning will see a transition from partly cloudy to mostly sunny, but daytime temperatures will remain in the low single digits above freezing, around 2 to 3 degrees. Winds will be generally light, keeping the felt temperature around zero degrees. Snow depth is 184 centimeters. Rising daytime temperatures will soften the residual snow, making it slippery.

By noon, it will become partly cloudy again, with strong drizzle expected by 3 PM, reaching a 90 percent chance of precipitation. Temperatures will drop to 1.1 degrees, and getting wet will significantly lower the felt temperature. On the challenging rocky sections of Mt. Helmets are mandatory. Residual snow patches will become slushy, requiring caution against post-holing and slips. Full rain gear is essential, and warm layers must be kept dry in waterproof packs.

Wind speeds will remain light throughout the day, with gusts up to only 3.5 meters per second, posing a low risk of strong winds affecting travel. While there are no direct lightning forecasts, the afternoon's deteriorating weather conditions could signal rapid changes. Hypothermia risk increases in the afternoon due to falling temperatures and getting wet from drizzle. Avoid wet clothing during breaks and focus on staying warm. For safe travel, it is advisable to ascend early in the morning, completing major rocky sections before the high chance of precipitation in the afternoon, and planning to descend by 3 PM at the latest.
