Shari-dake experiences cloudy conditions today, with summit temperatures at 4°C and foothills at 10.6°C. There is no snow cover, and the ground is expected to be wet to muddy. Particularly, the Old Trail (continuous waterfalls) on the Kiyotakiso starting loop route, which follows a stream, poses a high risk of slipping on wet rocks. Exercise extreme caution with good friction hiking boots and trekking poles.
The current perceived temperature at 1490m is 0.8°C. For daytime activity, a quick-dry base layer, a fleece mid-layer, and a waterproof-breathable outer shell are sufficient.
